The 2nd Annual NYC Piping  Day  sponsored by the Irish Arts Center in NYC was held on Feb. 16, 2003. Jerry O’Sullivan (Eileen Ivers Band), Ivan Goff (Riverdance on Broadway) Mattie Connolly, and  Seth Gallagher were among the presenters.

As with the 2002 Piping Day, it was a  wonderful opportunity to meet other uilleann pipers from the area; it's the closest thing to a New York Tionól we have at this time! Ivan is a great teacher and a big supporter of our club and its efforts (as well as a Champion Dublin piper).  Jerry O'Sullivan and Seth Gallagher, are huge assets to the New York piping community, their unstinting generosity in sharing their talents and teaching the rest of us.

We sponsored a workshop with Cillian Vallely. Many of us have met and heard him, and if you have not as of yet, just check out Lunasa.  You'll find him there. He is an expert piper, relaxed, and reminds one of Paddy Keenan in style. He also is an excellent instructor.  This is a  rare and "not to be missed" opportunity in our area for pipers to grab the chance to learn from such a "master" when the opportunity arises.
